Finding An Old Friend

Yesterday was Dylan's day off and we went to explore the Firewheel area near Garland and Sachse. So, we were driving down the road and Dylan flipped a U-ie without any warning. He pulls up to this teal green and pink trimmed, fake palmed treed hut. What the. . . He proclaims, "I love this place." I was thinking to myself, that was strange because earlier he had told me he had never been to Sachse. Then he proceeded to tell me that on his mission in Arizona they would go to Bahama Bucks almost daily. He said that they had the best snow cones ever.

So, here we are in January, (I think I saw a few snowflakes when we were walking around at Firewheel) eating snow cones. They were delish!!! No lying there. Turns out there are quite a few in the DFW area, just none close to us. Thank goodness, or I think we might have a problem. If you get a chance to go, try their Bahama Rama Mama style snow cone. It comes with ice cream and cream on top. Just when you thought you couldn't add anymore calories.

It also turns out that this T-shirt that Dylan has been carting around our whole marriage is from Bahama Bucks. It says, Eat Yellow Snow, on the front. I always thought that it was just a gross boy thing. I'm a little comforted that it's from a snow cone place.

Firewheel is a pretty cool outdoor shopping mall, they are still developing a lot out there, but it's really nice, probably even nicer when the wind is not blowing and warmer out.

Sarah, you did not see any snowflakes yesterday. Although Maris teased me for wearing my coat to the grocery store yesterday, it was 55 degrees...I have truly become aclimated to Texas...

I most definately saw small frozen somethings. I don't know if you could call them snowflakes, but probably as close as we can get.

I have been making smoothies for the past few weeks (thank you costco fruit)- I'm trying to pretend the weather is nice and warm. And, that today it really is not windy!
Those snow cones look delish!
