{F.H.E.}

Can someone explain to me how a lesson on
Moses and the Burning Bush turns into a tirade of questions about slippers
and how Moses had to get the people off the island?????
I think we are failing as parents!!!
All I did was read the story verbatim-- honest!!!

One down, and how many more to go????

That's right
the first day
went off without a hitch.
I take it was good for
Claire too,
as she was asleep in the car
when Dylan came to pick me up.
I couldn't get a lot out of her,
but what I did hear was all good.
Dylan says
she was talking
90 miles an hour
after school.
I miss that.
By the time I'm home the novelty has worn off,
and it was just another day at school.
The best part of my day,
Claire asking me to
lay down beside her
and just talk
at
bedtime.
Gotta love this kid.
She is my child,
mom you'll appreciate this
She has had stomach problems for the last
few days
at first I couldn't figure out what was wrong,
then I remembered all those
times I made myself sick
(i even got sent home from school on the first day of second grade-- I puked)
worrying
(I say it in the past tense like I never do it anymore:D)
Yep, that's my kid
stomachache from worry and all.
As far as my first day went,
well,
it went well.
I have
101 students
two of which I can see
will give me a run for my money,
but hey,
a pretty good percentage if I do say so myself.
I love teaching
and I am so grateful for all that I have been blessed with.
I am thankful for the friend
that left me a voicemail
saying she checked in on Claire at school this morning
she was doing fine
I needed to hear that,
I am thankful to the friend who
dropped a little something by the office for me.
It made my day!!!
I have been so distant
and wrapped up in myself,
and I am so grateful for
all the well wishes
and emails
and prayers.
You have been my light,
you have been my strength.
I made it through this day because of all of you.
Thank YOU!!!!

I May Have Shed A Tear

We went through
Kindergarten Vaccinations today.
I don't remember it being that hard before.
This time, I think I almost cried.
It didn't help that I had to hold her down
and
she had to get 4 shots.
Of course, I told her buck up
cause she didn't want the kids in the waiting room
to see her crying.
On a funny note, here was our conversation on the way to get vaccinated. I don't know whether or not to think it was funny, or a little creepy.
Claire: "Mom, I need to go to Lowes."
Me: "Why?"
Claire: "I can't tell you."
Me: "I can't take you, unless you tell me."
Claire: "Well, I need nurses gloves."
Me: "What? Why do you need nurses gloves, and why do you think they have them at Lowes."
Claire: "I know they do. I need them to pull that baby out of you."
Hmmm, I should remember this for when she can't decide what profession she wants to go into years down the road.
p.s. I know I don't need to remind you all that Claire is almost more obsessed with us having a baby than I am. NO, THIS IS NOT AN ANNOUNCEMENT. When or if it ever is, I won't beat around the bush. I will shout it from the rooftops!!!

Hiatus

I Love Blogging
I really do
and
I feel Blogging has
changed my life
in
good ways and bad.
I'm at that stage
where I'm wondering
how full time working moms
keep up with blogging???
My juggling act isn't running so smoothly.
When I walk in the door
at
5 p.m.
We all have food on our minds
then some quality time with
that weird little kid that runs around here
rounded up with mounds of guilt
over which daily chore
to half ass complete
or just ignore.
Yeah mom, I said half ass.
I've been thinking I'll just wait it out
and let myself get into this groove
then I realized
by the time I get into the groove
it will be
Summer Break
and then I can start
blogging regularly again.
So instead of feeling like
I'm cheating on a good friend
I'm just going on hiatus.
That way I can avoid guilt.
To all my friends whom
I regularly discuss blogging
and we have our own
bloggy language
Sorry, if I have to ask what you are talking about
It's up to you --- Janie :}
to keep me informed.
I'm still here
and
if I feel like I have a minute to breathe
I'll stop in
and write a quick note
about:
kids
getting locked in lockers
thinking Cowtown is a rural city in Texas
and
Effective ways to clean out black hole binders.
See I've got great stories
just no time to share them
and not exactly the perfect forum to share them in
So if you want a good laugh
stop by my house
any Saturday
when I'm sittin' around in my bra foldin' a months worth of laundry
sprayin' febreeze to cover up the stench of the dirty dishes.
No mom-- that's not really what it looks like around here--
I really do clean my house like you taught me too-- sometimes :D

Having A Bad Mom Moment

Claire is into singing ALL the time-- which I love, I remember being exactly that same way.

Tonight we were walking and she was singing, "i'm sad today cause my moms says hey and is angry every day."

Yep-- Claire summed up our relationship as of late in her short song. She is in the mischievious, lying, peeing regression, can't find enough things to entertain herself stage-- I'm in the, I thought you were an independant four year old, that doesn't need managed every minute of the day. As a result-- many visits to the naughty spot and an angry mommy. I feel like I am ruining the relationship with the only child I have.

So tell me the tricks of the trade--

*How do you nip lying in the bud, while its little Innocent lies like I didn't kick all my dirty clothes under my bed-- before it gets to its not my crack in my purse.

*What are creative independent activities that a four year old can do-- with out being micro managed by mom-- don't get me wrong-- I like to do things with her, but seriously she's four and is very capable, and has been-- she' s all of the sudden needing told what to do every second of the day.

*It was November, two years ago when Claire was potty trained-- we have had relatively few incidents with her in the last two years. In the last month we have had at least one "accident" a week-- but I think its been more. I totally lost it last week on this one-- she decided to pee all over the fabric I had just got her to make a trick or treat bag in front of Janie's kids- ahhhh!

There-- three things you insightful, experienced mothers can share your wisdom on. Help-- I have to find happy mommy again.

What's your favorite????

The other day I was working in the other room

and Claire comes running in.

"Mommy, hurry fast, you have to see it."

I quickly follow unsure of what I am going to see.

I enter the family room just in time to see the end of a

Soy Joy commercial.

"That's my favorite commercial, mommy."

???????

So, I rewind it-- Claire is laughing her head of the second time through.

She tells me her favorite part is when

the girl kisses the boy.

???????

Why????

Before you leave this post thinking,

I am a bad mom

for letting my four year old watch

so much TV that she has a

FAVORITE

commercial,

you must know, that at our house, commercials are the

icing on the cake.

My HUSBAND

lives for

COMMERCIALS!!!!

So, what's your favorite????
